James Thompson

James W. Thompson, M.S., CCC-A

Certified Clinical Audiologist

Jim Thompson, owner of Thompson Audiology since its opening in 1983, received his M.S. in Audiology from Brigham Young University in 1969, and his B.S. in Speech and Hearing from BYU in 1967.

Jim was certified by American Speech and Hearing Association in 1970 and is a Washington State certified audiologist. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and the Academy of Dispensing Audiologists.

A member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the Washington Society of Audiology, and Washington Hearing Healthcare Providers. Mr. Thompson currently serves as President of the Washington Audiology Alliance, a statewide organization of private practitioners.

His expertise includes audiological testing and aural counseling.

Jim delights in family activities, is committed to volunteer church service and leadership, and is an avid traveler and college sports fan. He is a member of Yakima Rotary Club.


 


David C. Oplinger

David C. Oplinger, M.S., CCC-A

Certified Clinical Audiologist

David Oplinger received his M.S. in Audiology from Idaho State University in 2000, and his B.S. in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Idaho State University in 1998.

Dave is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Audiology from the School of Audiology at Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

Certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association and Washington State, Dave is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.

He joined Thompson Audiology in March, 2000.

Dave’s areas of expertise include diagnostic audiology, vestibular testing, and digital hearing aid technology.

Dave enjoys his growing family, playing golf, and serves as a youth leader in his church.



Rodney Thompson

Rodney M. Thompson, M.S., CCC-A

Certified Clinical Audiologist

Rodney Thompson received his M.S. in Audiology from the Idaho State University in 2001, and his B.S. of Audiology from Brigham Young University in 1999.

Rod joined the Thompson Audiology staff in 2001.

His areas of expertise include vestibular (dizziness) evaluation and advanced hearing aid technology.

Rod is certified by Washington State and by the American Speech and Hearing Association.

Rod is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Audiology from the School of Audiology at Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

His interests away from his work include his young and growing family, fishing and basketball.



David Axford

David R. Axford, B.S., BC-HIS

Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist

David Axford received a B.S. in Hearing and Speech Sciences from Walla Walla College in 1982 .

David is a licensed hearing aid dispenser and nationally board certified as a hearing instrument specialist.

David is a certified occupational hearing conservationist.

His area of expertise is hearing aid instrumentation and technology.

David has been a member of the Thompson Audiology staff since September,1988.

An elder and youth leader in his church, David enjoys photography, music and travel. His travels have taken him to Asia, Europe and the Caribbean. He is a member of the Yakima Lion’s Club.
