Understanding Today’s Technology…
Recent advancements in hearing aid technology provide a wide range of benefits to the consumer. The “Technology Pyramid” offers a visual representation of the choices available with a brief overview of the four basic groups. Your audiologist will help you select the technology best suited for your individual hearing loss and lifestyle needs.

100% Digital Technology
The latest technology available provides superior listening comfort in many environments. The 100% digital sound processor automatically detects changes in the listening environment by continuously analyzing incoming sounds. The digital hearing aid features automatic volume adjustment, background noise reduction and feedback management.

These instruments can be programmed by your audiologist to respond to a variety of listening situations to meet your lifestyle needs.

Programmable Hearing Aid Technology
Technology of the 1990’s, programmable instruments offer a moderate technology level and price. The digitally programmable technology of these circuits range from analog instruments to more sophisticated circuitry offering full dynamic range compression and multi-channel programmability.

Conventional Linear Hearing Aid Technology
This technology represents the most basic and oldest technology available. These products enhance sounds and work well in quiet listening situations. Conventional hearing aids were popular in the 1980’s and typically the least expensive selection.
